It is an easily implemented, structured approach to giving students the tools they need to become effective readers. The CAP Program for Reading Success© incorporates multisensory feedback into all lessons. A key component to The CAP Program for Reading Success© is the association between colors and sounds. Colors representing place, voice, and/or manner of sound production are applied to the background of each sound card, for example, red represents sounds that are made by the lips and pink represents sounds made with the tongue tip. Sounds and concepts are introduced with maximum supports and key concepts are repeated frequently. As the student progresses through the program the color supports are gradually removed and the ultimate
goal;; the student being able to read text with minimal cues, is achieved.
